BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's action crime film "Caught in Time" has raked in 430 million yuan (about 65 million U.S. dollars) at China's box office, grossing more than 10 million yuan Wednesday.
The daily top earner co-stars Wang Qianyuan, who was also part of this year's war epic blockbuster "The Eight Hundred."
"Caught in Time" follows a detective who tracks down a gang of criminals 10 years after they initially evaded arrest.
The movie's social media account announced Thursday that a sequel, "Caught in Time II," is on the way, without giving any word on its release date.
Wednesday saw the total China box office collection of U.S. animated comedy film "The Croods: A New Age" top 152 million yuan and that of the Chinese feature film "One Second," directed by renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, near 100 million yuan, six days after their screening.
As of Thursday, China's 2020 box office revenue exceeded 16.6 billion yuan, showed figures compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network.
